Bryan Mosak
You never know where life will bring you. I’m Barbara Mosak and my husband Bryan, our son Aden (16 years old), and my stepson Michael (26 years old) have been on a challenging journey these past XX months. I’d like to share our story with you. A number of years ago our friend Howard Granet introduced us to the BTB foundation. We attended our first banquet dinner and had so much fun! From the silent auction to the live auction with Howie driving the prices up for the home chef party to the wheel of meat, it was a great time with friends. Besides the fun we had that night, we also learned how BTB has helped so many people. It has been so inspirational to meet so many wonderful people. Since, we have attended the golf outing, many home chef parties, whiskey nights, and have enjoyed, on our friends’ coattails, the experiences of some of the live action winnings. We are in awe of the hard work the BTB staff put into every event. Enter cancer. When Bryan was diagnosed with acute mylode leukemia we were devastated. In May 2019, Bryan spent two months in the hospital after being diagnosed, and then another two months over the December holidays having a stem cell transplant. Since the transplant, we have received the results of his first bone marrow biopsy. It is still showing leukemia. We are still fighting more chemo and more chemo. The fight is hard, but we could not do it without all our family and friends. It has been amazing to see all the love and support. Until you go through an illness with someone you love, you never fully understand how hard this is for the person, the spouse, the children, and the caregiver(s). Through all the years we were trying to help others, we never thought we would be ones receiving help in return. You never know where life will bring you. We have since been so inspired by all the incredible people that have been touch by the BTB foundation. Our hearts go out to you, Tom, Bill, our hero Howie, and all of the people who continue to support us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we will always remember, be grateful, and send our wishes for life to bring us all to the happiest of places. |
