MEAT FEST

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Meat Run/Walk/Fest has been postponed until 2014

Rest assured it will be a 5K race unlike any other.

Known as "Silky D", good old #85 of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears is using his smooth moves to help Tom and Bill Latourette.  Since 2010, Dennis has been helping local families in their battle against cancer with Beat Tom and Bill!

Awards:


Custom medal awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants male and female overall and top 3 in each age group.

All kids participating in the one mile MeatFest Dash will receive a bib as well as participant ribbons.
 
There will also be a special
BEAT TOM AND BILL RACE AWARD! 

Meat Fest Information

The Meat Fest Competition will start in the morning, as this type of event takes time, judging will happen after the 5K race, with taste testing finishing up in the early afternoon.  You can bring partially finished product, as some people may want to slow or long smoke some items that exceed the time of the event.

The BTB will provide:
A 10x10 space for each entrant - limited to 40 contestants or teams 
A hand washing station with hand sanitizer
Plates, Bowls, Forks & Napkins
Porta Potty
Gifts! 

What you will need:
$25 Entrance Fee 
20lbs of finished product for tasting and judging.
Your grill
Charcoal or Fuel, there will be additional Kingsford charcoal there as well
Prep table 
Chairs
Cooler 
Canopy 
Utensils
Small Fire Extinguisher
Knife/cutting board

Each contestant will charge for tastings, proceeds to go to the
BTB Foundation --- $3 per taste, $10 for 4, $20 for 9

GENERAL NOTES  

Event will start rain, shine or snow. Event could be delayed due to lightning or other possibly dangerous conditions.

Event is Chip Timed. Your bib contains your timing chip. You must wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed.

Course conditions on event day could be variable including the potential for water, ice & snow. It is the participant’s responsibility to take proper caution.

All participants are required to sign a waiver to be considered a participant.

Dogs are not allowed.

There is no age limit for the 5k it is the participant's or participant’s parents responsibility to determine whether they are healthy enough to complete the distance safely.

Headphones/iPod/mp3 devices are strongly not recommended. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers as the course is not closed. There will be other runners, walkers, cyclists, roller-bladers, and dog walkers along the path as well. Please be careful and respectful and, hopefully, they will do the same.
